Prepare delicious chicken seasoning and change the taste of your food!-Part 2

Have you been with us these past few weeks? If you remember, we explained how to prepare a delicious spice to use on chicken. Today we want to tell you how to grill chicken and how to flavor it. Because chicken is one of the most popular Iranian(Persian) foods in Toronto.

How to grill chicken?!

Bring the chicken to room temperature

Make sure your chicken has rested at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to cool.

Pound the chicken

Next, to make sure your chicken cooks evenly, pound the chicken evenly so that all parts cook evenly.

Heat the grill

Preheat your grill to medium heat, approximately 400-375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Apply the spice

In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, cumin, coriander, smoked paprika, sea salt, pepper and olive oil. Stir well to combine.

Season the chicken

Rub the seasoning mixture on both sides of the chicken.

Grill

Place the chicken on the grill and grill for 4 to 7 minutes per side, depending on thickness, or until no longer pink.

Rest and serve

Let it rest for 5 minutes so that the chicken juice is absorbed and does not come out of the chicken in the main dish, and then cut it to serve.

How long should the chicken be grilled?!

The key to a perfectly grilled chicken recipe is to not touch the chicken while it’s on the grill. Once your chicken hits the grill, let the grill do all the work. Depending on the thickness of the chicken, set your timer for 4-7 minutes and turn it over. If the chicken sticks to the grill, it’s not done yet. Your meat will be released after it is fully cooked. Chicken is considered cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a meat thermometer to check the temperature. Do not cut the chicken to see if it is pink. This will release all the water and make your chicken dry. It sounds like such a simple thing, but the key is to keep the grilled chicken moist.

Flavor your chicken breast

Marinating is a great way to flavor and tenderize your chicken breast at the same time! When it comes to creating the perfect marinade, you’re really only limited by your imagination!

Greek marinade

For a classic Greek flavor combination, simply mix lemon juice, garlic, parsley, oregano with some olive oil. Then put the chicken breast in the marinade to let it infuse. It’s that easy! This marinade is perfect if you want to grill or pan fry your chicken.

Moroccan spices

Add some spices to your chicken breast by combining paprika, cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, ginger, garlic and olive oil to form a paste. Then cover your chicken breast with dough and gently pat it down to firm it up. This Middle Eastern spice is delicious when charred on the grill.

Maple glaze

If you like sweet taste, then this marinade is for you! Mix maple syrup, garlic, soy sauce and lime juice with chicken juice, then cook on low heat and let it thicken until it gets a beautiful and shiny glaze. Once reduced, apply the glaze to your chicken breast and let it infuse. Don’t forget to save some to pour over the chicken when cooking for extra flavor!
Remember, it’s best to marinate your chicken breast overnight to infuse the flavors. A quicker way to add flavor is to brine the chicken breast before cooking. This will help tenderize the meat and add extra flavor.
